Awake My Soul

Art Sydney

I was lucky enough to find myself at an art show last Friday night thanks to a special someone who gave me tickets :)
I wanted to share some of my favorites with you, there was some great inspiring work there.

Perran Costi
I got to see these amazing little 'sky boxes' in real life.

Heather Dinnas
Her photography is absolutely amazing. I love the soft tones, they really look like images from another time - renaissance paintings but with a twist.

Wendy Arnold's paintings

Emma Hack
Her wall and body painting looked awesome.. i loved the little red bird.

More then Music.

I'm really quite falling in love with mumford and sons. I love listening to music which speaks to the heart and soul..their music speaks to mine. The lyrics have so much meaning and his voice is so good yet imperfect. Their unusual instruments work so well too.. they have such a unique sound.

Awake My Soul.

How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyes.
I struggle to find any truth in your lies.
And now my heart stumbles on things I don't know.
This weakness I feel I must finally show.

Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them all.
But lend me your heart and I'll just let you fall.
Lend me your eyes I can change what you see.
But your soul you must keep, totally free.

In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die.
Where you invest your love, you invest your life.
Awake my soul.

I recommend them if your looking for something new to listen to.

Some Spirituality

I randomly found this website The Essence of Consciousness Its really interesting. Heres a snippet:

Now, more than ever, we must find ways to liberate ourselves from the dysfunctional, egocentric modes of thinking that lie at the root of so many of problems, and uncover the immense potentials inherent in consciousness itself.

We need to understand the true nature of mind.

Spiritual adepts across all cultures repeatedly make clear that those qualities we most long for - peace, love, freedom, fulfillment - lie at the core of our being, not in the material world upon which Western culture has been so focused. Such qualities are the essence of consciousness.

Spirituality?

I just have to say a massive thank you to Lisa. I really wanted to see Paul Dempsey live and she got us tickets. Love you so much !
(his album has been playing in my car for about 2 months now)

If you haven't heard of him you are seriously deprived.
Just one of my favourites of his spectacular album.

His music has this nostalgic quality.. and his lyrics are nothing less of genius.

thats it for now
Bye bye cherry pies

Relator by Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johannson. I never knew she could sing but she has a pretty vintage-sounding voice..

Instead of uni work..

I've been avoiding my uni work all day and only gotten a tiny bit done..it'll be a late one for me tonight!

But to more important matters..

Weird is everything..

Peacock Chair

Its an antique chair fitted with peacock feathers that fan out when built-in sensors sense a person sitting in it...I want one.

The peacock chair was created by Design firm Interactive Spaces, LLC.

Houses Gone Wild

I love these photos of nature taking back over where it once was.

And these 'Ghost Buildings' that have been half demolished leaving behind an imprint of what once was.

Number 2.
- Here are some things I think are awesome...

Something EVERYONE should Watch:

the story of stuff

If you can, take some time to watch this.

We where shown it at uni, it really explains the full story in a simple way.

It showed me many things I never realised where happening.

Loving this dreamy photography

Sorry i cant give the sources for these images. I'm very bad at organising my files and I have no idea where I got them!
